The Experience
Discover the most authentic Ischia along an itinerary that winds through ancient rural houses and cultivated terraces. This walk takes you to discover the agricultural heart of the island, where centuries-old traditions are still perpetuated and some of the local culinary excellence is produced.
The trail
The trail unfolds through a varied landscape that tells the island’s agricultural history: passionately tended vineyards, lush reed groves, expanses of agaves, prickly pears, broom and valerian trees color the path. These lands, once a source of livelihood for the wealthy families of the Borgo di Celsa (today’s Ischia Ponte), still maintain their productive vocation.
Flavors of the land
The experience is enhanced with food and wine stops at local producers. Here you can taste fine island wine and savor typical specialties such as the renowned zampognari beans, perfect either on bruschetta or in a warm soup. Each taste tells the story and hard work of the farmers who keep these ancient traditions alive.
