The experience
For snorkelers
Accompanied by a specialized guide, you will receive an introduction to the volcanic geology of the island and the scientific importance of this site. After a briefing on snorkeling techniques and equipment use, you will dive into this unique environment, where you will get a close look at a natural phenomenon studied by the world’s most prestigious scientific journals such as Nature and National Geographic.
For certified divers
Diving to the vents of the Aragonese Castle offers a unique opportunity to explore this extraordinary natural laboratory in depth. Guided by experienced instructors, you will be able to:
- Take a close look at CO2 emissions rising from the seabed
- Study in detail the marine flora and fauna adapted to this unique environment
- Exploring the differences between acidified and normal pH zones

A tip: For an even more impressive experience, choose the excursion at sunset, when the sun’s rays create extraordinary light effects through the bubbles rising to the surface. Underwater photographers will especially appreciate the unique lighting conditions created at this time of day.
